Tomas Espedal is a Bergen based writer, who made his debut as an author in 1988. In 1991, he was awarded the P2/Bokklubbens novel competition for "Hun og jeg" (She and I). He has been the initiator of the Bergen International Poetry Festival. In his later works, Tomas writes closely about his own life and experiences while exploring the relationship between the novel and genres such as essay, letter, diary, autobiography, and travelogue. Tomas' "Gå. Eller kunsten å leve et vilt og poetisk liv" (2006) was nominated for the Nordic Council Literature Prize, and he was nominated again for "Imot kunsten" (2009) and "Bergeners" (2013). Tomas was also awarded the Critic's Prize in 2009 and the Gyldendal Prize in 2009. He received the Brage Prize in 2011 for "Imot naturen" (Against Nature).

Ingvild Burkey is a Norwegian author and literary translator. Her published works include two volumes of poetry, a novel, a collection of short prose and, most recently, a book of stories, Et underlig redskap (A Peculiar Tool). Among her translations into English are five books by Karl Ove Knausgaard and a novel by Per Petterson. She has also translated two of Nobel laureate Louise Glück's poetry collections into Norwegian. She divide her time between Oslo and rural Dalmatia.
